We have stayed twice at Villa Samanyolu, both times we have loved the area and especially the villa, for a family of 4 it is more than spacious and has all the amenities required for a great time. The villa is immaculate and help is always on hand for any issues, there are resteraunts and a small shop close buy but clearly Kalkan is very close by, walking (if you like steep hills) or by taxis which are always ready to come. There is also the Kalkan beach club very close by with lots to do there also. I would highly recommend a stay at this location. Gareth and Jo.

A truly fantastic Villa in a great location looking out over the water to Kalkan. Wonderful facilities close to a great beach club and water taxi. We will return! Simon T.

Villa Samanyolu is a beautifully appointed, spacious well equipped property with excellent views of Kalkan bay and the Taurus mountains. The property was clean and well maintained, with welcome essentials (tea, coffee, milk etc) on our arrival. The pool though smaller than we anticipated was lovely and cleaned daily. Beds were comfortable. The master suite was lovely, but due it being the hottest part of the year it was simply too hot to sleep in - we were much cooler in the pool level bedroom. Philip was very helpful before and during our stay, providing essential information and keeping us updated. Philip and the property managers he used organised our transfer from/to airport which was excellent service and competitively priced. There was plenty to occupy all members of the family as Kalkan Beach Park was a few minutes walk away. The roads to and around Kalkan and Kisla are extremely steep which was not an issue for us (great exercise!) but maybe a consideration for families with very young children or individuals with mobility issues. The water taxi runs from the beach park to Kalkan very frequently and takes about 6 minutes. Kalkan is lovely with fabulous restaurants (Sade, Kalamaki, Rosemary are worth a mention), great shops and bars, the general feeling is lively and friendly without being too rowdy. A boat trip is a must and is great value, we would also recommend the Saklikent Gorge/Tlos/ Patara beach trip. We had a very enjoyable and memorable holiday, would love to return and would recommend to families like ours with teenagers.

"Spotless accommodation, fabulous views"
A memorable two weeks at a very well appointed, spotlessly clean accommodation. Fabulous top terrace with exquisite views of the bay and Kalkan with plenty of chairs to enjoy the sun or shade from the balcony to the pool area. Great location as only 5 minutes walk down to the ferry or up to the local shop/restaurant. Would highly recommend and will be returning!

"Fabulous views, excellent Villa"
A particularly well appointed villa. All rooms with beautiful ensuites, spotless throughout. Plenty of loungers to soak up the sun or enjoy the shade. Particularly enjoyed the top terrace with the conch shell, great to escape the midday sun or enjoy an evening drink while watching the boats come in. Great position, not too far up the hill in the midday heat and close enough to the water taxi and beach club. Best beach clubs by far were kalamar and palm beach. Multitude of tasty, rooftop terrace restaurants to choose from in Kalkan, a short water taxi, or car trip away. The two bottom bedrooms were far cooler (and had darker curtains!) but the top bedroom was bright, spacious and airy and direct access to wonderful rooftop terrace. Would highly recommend, we hope to return!

We returned home this morning, having had just the most fantastic time in Kalkan and Villa Samanyolu.

Thank you so much for allowing us to use your beautiful villa. We can totally understand why you fell in love with Kalkan and the Turkish people and we really hope to be able to return to Turkey again soon.

The villa was everything we could have hoped for, being spacious, luxurious and within close proximity to the beach club and the Kalkan water taxi, and at the end of a hard day out soaking up the sun and sea it was a delight to return 'home'! We are certainly going to find this week extremely hard as we all return to our normal daily chores!

Once again, very many thanks,

With best wishes, Simon, Joey, Jack & Tom.

Well, we absolutely loved the villa…. Everything about it was wonderful, from the light fresh décor to the magnificent views.  We thought that the whole house felt lovely and spacious with plenty of storage space, really comfortable beds, gorgeously finished en-suites, plenty of seating, (particularly on the outside terraces), and the gas barbeque was super. (I promise, we did leave it clean.)
The salt pool was fantastic. No horrible chemicals to irritate our skin. We particularly liked the large steps that led into the swimming pool. When it became too hot to sit and read, we sat and read on the top step so that the water kept us cool. Simply brilliant! We all appreciated having such lovely white towels and the pool towels were a real boon.
Well, as we predicted from everything we had read, we did fall in love with Kalkan. It certainly has a charm and special ambience all of its own. The people in general were all lovely, happy and always polite.  It made such a nice change from some of the other holiday resorts that we have previously visited in Turkey where you are constantly badgered by people dragging you into shops and restaurants.
We hired a car for the fortnight and it did come in very useful for popping in to town and doing some sightseeing. During our stay we visited Kas, Patara, Fethyie, Olu Deniz and Islamlar, and had an amazing time at each and every one of them. We also had a great day out on the Kalkan boat trip and we had hoped to do a fishing trip but the water was too choppy each time we were due to go so the captain had to cancel it.
We found a good English breakfast right at the end of the harbor near the beach.  16 TL including fresh orange juice and tea or coffee, very handy if we were going out for the day. The other restaurants that we enjoyed were The Olive Garden, Gironda and Mahmuts Restaurant in Islamla village, where we stopped and had a trout for lunch on our last full day. It really was delicious and the gorgeous view of the sea from the restaurant terrace was a wonderful bonus.
Well, I would just like to thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful villa and hope that we will be able to stay again sometime in the future. We would have liked to stay again this September but the period we were looking for was not available so we have had to book another villa. We can only hope that it will offer the same comfort and relaxation that we enjoyed at your villa. . . .
You certainly do have a lovely Turkish home and we sincerely hope that you continue to share its joys with lots of other people for many years to come.
Kind regards
Helen & Peter

“We all had a brilliant time in kalkan, the villa was perfect with unbelievable views! no complaints whatsoever, and the saltwater pool was lovely. The villa was very well equipped. the information pack was very informative and helpfull with all the numbers we needed throughout our stay taxi etc. we went to bobs restaurant few times it is so handy 5min from villa and serves lovely food with good service and amazing views across kalkan. We all felt very much at home at Samanyolu and were sad to leave "thankyou".

A very belated thank you for a lovely week in Kalkan. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The villa was very luxurious (a far cry from past holiday accommodation) and the area was really beautiful. Thank you too for arranging the taxi transfer for us on arrival - it all went very smoothly and Mahmut looked after us well while we were there. Many thanks again and we hope to visit again in the future.
Best wishes, Annette & David. August 2010

Kalkan is a beautiful place and the villa is fabulous. Enjoyed having the three floor levels: pool to swim and relax, living room balcony for tea break/reading/taking in the view, and top floor in the evening catches the breeze and is great for watching the sunset. Will definitely come to Villa Samanyolu again. So much more we want to see.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Samanyolu, it was very relaxing and peaceful. The boat from Kisla to Kalkan is a great way to travel and it only cost 4TL per person (return). We loved the villa and pool and 3 floors of spectacular views that we mainly stayed in.

Had a wonderful week here after a week at sea on a Gulet. We came here for teenagers to do their PADI, it took only 3 days here at the Kalkan Dive Centre at Kalamar, half the price of doing it in the UK plus warmer, highly recommended.

Super villa, super town!

We have had a lovely two weeks in this beautiful town and lovely villa. . . . What a truly fantastic holiday!

"Outstanding villa in superb location. Spacious, quality fittings, nice pool. Certainly the best we have ever come across. Helpful owners who want you to enjoy their villa and holiday. Bar has certainly been raised - we are going to have to go somewhat to better it next year."
David and Liz, Henley on Thames

"Kalkan and the surrounding area are beautiful. The area and views were out of this world and words cannot describe the villa. It has been built and decorated to a very high standard and we all loved the pool. Eveyone was so very friendly, restaurants all very good and lots of places to see and explore. You must go into Kalkan at night for a meal at the Aubergine which looks over the harbour, very good food and excellent service. We will be back next year."
John and Jane

"This was our third visit to Turkey and this villa is the best we have found - beautiful with lots of thought and care taken in each room.We went as two families and there was plenty of space for everyone. During our week we canoed down the River Xanthos to the sea, hired a boat for a day, went to the Saklikent Gorge, went to Kalkan (10 mins away) to eat by the harbour, visited Lycean ruins at Xanthos and also enjoyed just staying at home relaxing by the pool and exploring the local villages. Loved the villa!”
Simon, London

This villa is highly recommended. Really well equipped - from the entrance gates to the furniture and light fittings all to the highest standard. Fantastic location and Kisla is just the right place to be with lots of places to visit or just chill out by the pool.
